Satpura Tiger Reserve, a unification of pachmarhi, Bori, and Madai Sanctuaries. It is a highly diverse biosphere reserve which is believed to be one of India’s best lesser known wildlife destinations. Satpuda thick, dry-deciduous forest is characterised by hilly backdrops, gorgeous water bodies and mesmerising landscapes. It’s an area dominated by teak trees, bamboo, various mixed species of trees, covering an area over 1,500 square kilometres and is home to a number of species of animals. Tigers, Leopards, Wild Dogs, Sloth Bear, Indian Gaur, Sambhar, Wild Boar, Cheetal, languor, Indian Giant Squirrel are amongst the widely viewed animals here. Beside some rare Indian fauna including the Hyena, the Flying Squirrel and the porcupine.
Satpura Tiger Reserve is also a birdwatcher’s paradise. Constellations of rivers attracts a lot of migratory birds for feeding. Abundant water holes and different habitats within the park are home to numerous resident bird species. One can expect to see rare and uncommon species of birds.
Satpuda is a park were nature lovers can do a lot of activities apart from just game drives. one can do walking in the park, there are certain amazing walking trails, elephant safari, canoeing is also one amazing option, one can get close to water birds, boating, camping and Night Safari to experience the nocturnal wild.
